WhatsApp Editing Tips and Tricks: How to Fix Your Mistakes and Add More Details to Your Messages

iOS
- Long-press on the message you want to edit and choose ‘Edit’ from the menu.
- Then, you can make any changes you want to the message
- Tap on the checkmark when you’re done.
Android
- Press and hold the message you want to edit until a menu appears.
- Tap on Edit from the menu, and make any changes you want to the message in the text field.
- Tap on the green check button to save your changes.
The edited message will show up in the chat with an ‘edited’ label next to it, so everyone knows that you made some adjustments. You can also see the edit history of the message by tapping on it and choosing ‘View edit history’ from the menu.
There are some limitations, though. You can only edit messages within 15 minutes of sending them, and you can’t edit photos, videos, or other types of media or captions.
Also, if you’re not on the latest version of WhatsApp, you won’t be able to see the edited messages, but instead, a message saying “This message was edited for everyone in this chat on the latest version of WhatsApp.” So make sure you update your app to enjoy this feature.
